Who we are

Empowering Lives Through Health and Education

Sir G.L.I. Opiepe’s Health and Education Foundation, a non-profit led by Dr. Philomena Ikowe, a Harvard Medical School alumna with two decades of medical experience, was founded in 2019 and formally registered in 2023. The foundation is run by Dr. Ikowe in collaboration with her family.

Named in honor of the visionary philanthropist and educationist, Sir Gabriel Louis Ihieje Opiepe, KSJI, who hails from Ainakpor-Olachor, Okpoma-Yala, Cross River State, Nigeria in West Africa, the foundation envisions a world where essential healthcare and quality education are not luxuries but inalienable rights accessible to all strata of society.

Through our dedicated team of healthcare professionals and volunteers, we have organized numerous medical camps in underserved communities across Nigeria. These camps provide essential healthcare services, including general check-ups, screenings for common diseases, vaccinations, and health education sessions. By bringing healthcare directly to the doorstep of those in need, we have been able to reach individuals who may otherwise lack access to medical care.

Scholarships

Sir G.L.I Opiepe’s Health and Education Trust Fund has awarded scholarships to deserving students from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to pursue their educational aspirations. By investing in education, we aim to break the cycle of poverty and empower young minds to reach their full potential.
